MOVEMENTS HAVE LANGUAGE

Assembly exists to challenge the committed follower of Jesus and engage the curious.

We don't separate faith from real life. Our lives are the mission-where Jesus meets people in conversations, commutes, and kitchen tables. To live that kind of faith, we believe words matter.

Because words shape culture.

And culture is how the mission moves.

IT’S all about jesus

Assembly is a movement of people curious and captivated by a story; a story initiated by God and lived out by Jesus. Jesus is at the center of everything at Assembly. Together, we read the words of Jesus and interpret all Scripture and culture through a Jesus-centered lens.

We are always asking ourselves and each other:

“What is Jesus saying to Me?”

“What am I going to do about it?”

This world may be broken, but Jesus has good news for everyone: the mission of Jesus is to make all things new, and each of us is invited on the mission with Jesus to help heal the world.

When people choose to follow Jesus, God plants inside them all that is needed to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach their friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.

some assembly required

The church isn’t a building, an institution, or a business; it’s you, with your friends, gathering together and following Jesus in your everyday lives.

When Jesus launched the movement of people known as the Church,

Ordinary, unlikely, rough-around-the-edges people just like you and me. Jesus picked the ones nobody else picked, and they got the opportunity to be on His team, which changed their lives forever.

Jesus invited them to His mission, and this mission has some assembly required. This assembly happens in our souls, in our cities, in our communities, and it changes everything.

He started with everyday, ordinary people, not religious elite, paid professionals, or know-it-alls.

Jesus propels us into a paradigm where the mission is in the hands of everyday ordinary people, and the journey is marked by extraordinary courage and commitment to follow Jesus… together.

This is why we see creativity as a part of everything we do at Assembly. A life of imagination is the natural result of time with Jesus, leading to a thriving city through every sector of society.

Jesus’s final command was to make disciples. Apprentices. People who practice His way and help others do the same.

That’s the mission Assembly is committed to: forming people who follow Jesus in the everyday, and who multiply that life in others. That mission has some assembly required.
